Calendula, Calendula officinalis, is also known as English Marigold. A salve made from the flowers is a premier healing agent and antiseptic. Simple mastication of the flowers will yield a similar result. Flowers are also used a base for herbal teas, in salads and to colour butter and cheese. Used as a companion plant and in pot pourri.
