Smallage, Apium graveolens, is also known as Wild Celery, Marsh Celery, Marsh Parsley, Celery Herb and Leaf Celery. This is the wild form of culinary celery. Smallage has a more intense flavour than cultivated celery and is also more fibrous. Cultivated commercially for seed which is sold as “Celery Seed”. Prefers a moist position and is best suited to a temperate climate. Biennial herb that is grown as an annual in cooler climates. To 0.45m, cut for the table at 0.2m.
