Datura plant, Brugmansia sanguinea, is an impressive plant bearing large trumpet shaped flowers that produce a heady perfume. This plant is closely associated with the religious/magic practices of central America. Datura plant is native to Peru and prefers rich well drained soils in a protected, sunny position. Drought resistant, but frost tender. An evergreen shrub, growing to 5m x 3m. This species is not Jimson Weed, also sometimes called Datura.
