Mexican Tarragon, Tagetes lucida, is also known as Sweet Tarragon, or Winter Tarragon. Mexican Tarragon appears in the religious art of Central America. The dried leaf and flowers used as a smokable euphoric. The fresh leaf has an anise flavour and is used as a food flavouring and as a tea. Flowers are edible. A tea made from the dried leaves is used to sweat a cold (a diaphoretic).  A companion plant. Mexican Tarragon is native to Mexico and Central America. Prefers a light to medium free draining soil in an open sunny position. Flowers of a deep yellow colour appear in summer. Drought hardy but frost tender. A herbaceous perennial in warm climates and an annual in cold areas. Growing to 0.6m x 0.6m.
