Pasque Flower, Pulsatilla vulgaris, has the synonym Anemone pulsatilla. Other commonly used names are Pulistilla and Anemone. Pasque Flower is a delicate and pretty plant well suited for the rock garden. The leaves and flowers widely used to correct membrane disorders of the respiratory and digestive tracts. Low doses of plant tincture are utilised to calm nervous disorders associated with the fluctuation of female hormones. Note: Plant parts are poisonous when fresh, but only sedative when dried. Pasque Flower is native to Europe and is adaptable to most alkaline soils but prefers an open, sunny position. Frost resistant but drought tender. A perennial plant growing to 0.5m x 0.5m. Attractive purple-blue flowers in spring.
